Do you offer Assurance Services, such as audits?
We do not offer CPA “assurance” services for several reasons. Our goal is to partner with you and act as a virtual team member, whenever called upon. If the need for assurance services arise, we partner with several great CPA firms that can easily integrate and service the compliance need.
What do you charge?
One of the founding principles of the firm was to break the traditional model and find a way to create ongoing, meaningful relationships with our clients. We encourage constant communication! Thus, except for rare circumstances, we DO NOT engage on an hourly billing model. Each client is assessed based on their needs and specific packages are tailored to best service them.
Are we a good candidate for Proactive Tax Strategy or Advanced Tax Reduction Plan?
Our firm believes in forward thinking tax reduction, mitigation and planning rather than simple tax preparation. The IRC is nearly 88,000 pages and its our goal to help find you the best solutions to minimize your annual tax bill and pour those savings back into your business or other important areas. As Certified Tax Coaches, we’ve undergone extensive training that allows us to offer you this unique service. Although most of the clients that fall into this category are profitable (and thus paying too much in taxes), we’ve found it valuable to help pre-revenue startups install some of these same principles to offset other tax types and set themselves up for future savings by creating “tax assets.” Waiting until you become profitable to “figure out” taxes will result in you overpaying unnecessary taxes along the way and potentially at your “exit.”
Who is your typical client?
The firm services entrepreneurial and emerging growth companies from pre-revenue through their eventual exit. Our work centers around the “startup” community, helping business owners understand their financial and tax situations and create efficiencies so they can focus on what they do best and scale. Most of our clients are tech centric or are related in some way to technology and emerging industries. Our firm works both on the business side as well as with the individual business owners and high net worth individuals. We also work with non-business owner individuals that have more complex situations such as investment properties, complex equity investments or are planning wealth transfers.
Do you offer 1040 Tax Preparation Services for individuals?
No. We chose to focus on year around tax planning and advisory as well as virtual accounting/CFO services. However, as part of our Concierge Tax engagements, we handle tax preparation for businesses and any related personal returns.
